It takes a lot of little things to build a layout
I’m making great progress on the York section of the Windsor St Yard layout. But some of the progress is on decidedly unglamorous things.

I’ve been making steady progress on the downtown York section of the Windsor St layout expansion, even with the brief interruption of The Great Flood. I’ll put up a post with more progress pics, and some better explanation of some of the things I’ve done later, but for now, here are a few recent teaser […]
I wanted the next post on the site to be about the awesome progress I’ve been making on Phase 2 and 3 of my Windsor St layout expansion, but that’s not going to be the case. It’s going to be about the flood and drying out that occurred in my basement on Feb 24, 2016.
Some new Maryland Midland power has shown up in York. Back in 2004, I worked on a special run project with Atlas while at MB Klein: Maryland Midland’s GP38-3s. I didn’t buy a set, because I was a broke college student, but I’ve finally rectified that situation.

One of the things that’s been daunting about working on my Windsor St Yard layout has been the sheer amount of track that needed to be ballasted: lots of mainline, and even more yard trackage. I’ve been progressing on the mains, but last night I dove into the actual yard trackage.
A rather big change came to my basement recently: the NCR Shelf layout that I had built has moved on to a new home with my friend Josh.
I’m currently working with someone to help refine the phase 2 of my Windsor St Yard layout. The starting point is a questionnaire which got me thinking that I really haven’t explained my overall plan for the Windsor St Yard layout here. So that’s what I’m going to do.
I was just discussing the future of my shelf layout, and was asked if there was an ongoing build thread on the Railwire. Well, there is. http://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=26704.0 It’s been a long time since I’ve updated it, but I wanted to link it up here for posterity.
