I recently put together a cheat sheet for operators at my friend’s layout, and figured the rest of the world might be able to use it too.
I feel bad that I haven’t been posting much of my recent progress, so here’s a catchup.
Lance’s work has always been very inspirational for me, first his Monon layout, which got me modeling winter, and now his “slowed down” switching stuff. I finally got a chance to visit Lance’s layouts, and can attest that they (and he) are as nice in person as they seem in print.
Mike McGrattan (frequently known as Puddington online) was a great guy. He recently lost his battle with cancer, and the Railwire forum embarked on a great project to memorialize him. Things have progressed to the point where I can now get some ground cover down at Hanover Junction.
Many years ago I owned a Volvo 240DL wagon. It was a great car. Eventually, the expected costs of running it caught up with it, and I ended up trading it in for a newer one. When I discovered a model of the car on Shapeways, I had to have one.
I realized that, while I’ve been very busy on the layout, I haven’t posted many updates on it lately, so here’s a big cumulative update on where things sit at the beginning of October 2016.
