Some York PA Teaser Pics

02/29/201603/18/2022 Ed Kapuscinski

I’ve been making steady progress on the downtown York section of the Windsor St layout expansion, even with the brief interruption of The Great Flood. I’ll put up a post with more progress pics, and some better explanation of some of the things I’ve done later, but for now, here are a few recent teaser […]

The Great Flood of 2016

02/25/201603/18/2022 Ed Kapuscinski

I wanted the next post on the site to be about the awesome progress I’ve been making on Phase 2 and 3 of my Windsor St layout expansion, but that’s not going to be the case. It’s going to be about the flood and drying out that occurred in my basement on Feb 24, 2016.

MMID GP38-3s arrive in York

02/11/201603/18/2022 Ed Kapuscinski

Some new Maryland Midland power has shown up in York. Back in 2004, I worked on a special run project with Atlas while at MB Klein: Maryland Midland’s GP38-3s. I didn’t buy a set, because I was a broke college student, but I’ve finally rectified that situation.

More Ballasting Progress in Windsor St Yard

11/19/201503/18/2022 Ed Kapuscinski

One of the things that’s been daunting about working on my Windsor St Yard layout has been the sheer amount of track that needed to be ballasted: lots of mainline, and even more yard trackage. I’ve been progressing on the mains, but last night I dove into the actual yard trackage.

The Premise of My Windsor St Yard Layout

06/24/201503/18/2022 Ed Kapuscinski

I’m currently working with someone to help refine the phase 2 of my Windsor St Yard layout. The starting point is a questionnaire which got me thinking that I really haven’t explained my overall plan for the Windsor St Yard layout here. So that’s what I’m going to do.

March 2015 Progress On The Windsor St Yard Office

03/21/201503/18/2022 Ed Kapuscinski

Creating a yard office for Windsor St has been a long undertaking, but now I’m in the construction phase, and things are starting to look good.

03/15/201503/18/2022 Ed Kapuscinski

Converting the engine terminal from its original use when it was Hagerstown to its current use as Windsor St is one of the bigger scenicing jobs on the layout. This weekend, I made a big step forward on it.

01/29/201503/18/2022 Ed Kapuscinski

I’ve been making some progress on the Windsor St Yard layout. Nothing incredible, but necessary nonetheless.
