I wanted the next post on the site to be about the awesome progress I’ve been making on Phase 2 and 3 of my Windsor St layout expansion, but that’s not going to be the case. It’s going to be about the flood and drying out that occurred in my basement on Feb 24, 2016.
Some new Maryland Midland power has shown up in York. Back in 2004, I worked on a special run project with Atlas while at MB Klein: Maryland Midland’s GP38-3s. I didn’t buy a set, because I was a broke college student, but I’ve finally rectified that situation.

One of the things that’s been daunting about working on my Windsor St Yard layout has been the sheer amount of track that needed to be ballasted: lots of mainline, and even more yard trackage. I’ve been progressing on the mains, but last night I dove into the actual yard trackage.
I’m currently working with someone to help refine the phase 2 of my Windsor St Yard layout. The starting point is a questionnaire which got me thinking that I really haven’t explained my overall plan for the Windsor St Yard layout here. So that’s what I’m going to do.
Creating a yard office for Windsor St has been a long undertaking, but now I’m in the construction phase, and things are starting to look good.
Converting the engine terminal from its original use when it was Hagerstown to its current use as Windsor St is one of the bigger scenicing jobs on the layout. This weekend, I made a big step forward on it.
