The dust has settled on the demolition of my Windsor St layout, and I wanted to pull together all the photos I have posted of it over the years into one big post.

Finished poles. Ignore the lean, I’ll be fixing that shortly.

In progress cat poles

The most stressful time: everything is soaked and needs time to dry. Note the paper towels stuck to the edge of the layout to control runoff.

See the wet down hillside that holds leaves better.

The memorial train is waiting for a signal off the Hanover IT and onto the NCR Line.

The Railwire Express Agency car arrived a few days ahead of time and has been sitting under guard on the pit track outside the yard office.

The MMID’s SD24s pull the memorial train past the yard office and into Windsor St Yard.

The Michael McGrattan passing through Windsor St Yard heading north.
Crossing Black Bridge Road in Emigsville, north of York.

The special coming south of Hanover Junction with 6366 on the point.
In the woods north of York.

The northbound special approaching Hanover Junction.

WHYK-40 runs a loop around the layout during an ops session.
More helpful signage: interlocking diagrams with DCC switch numbers where appropriate.
I printed out a copy of one of the cheat sheets and stapled it up where the Yardmaster can easily see it.
Copies of my various documents live in a brochure holder on the front of the layout.

The yard crew’s cheat sheet about which classification track is which.

The city immediately after painting finished. Notice the still wet sheen.
